Title: B31 Front wheel
Post by: griffo on 07 Aug, 2017, 17:10
Looking at the front wheel on my B31 it has a 21" rim and tyre . The brakes are not good to say the least. Seems to be the right back plate but the new shoes only touch lightly in their centres. Looking at the wheel and the drum in marked , inside as GP 5554  with the letters HC  higher inside . Is this the correct wheel for the bike and if not what is the wheel I have ?  Some body suggested it was off a scrambler as the hub outer rim goes outside and the rim flange , with a futher rim on the inside. i.e. the brake plate rim goes in a chanel... If you can understand that jibberish you deserve a pint...    :o   Griff

If you have windows 10 you may have "paint" program.

Right click on photo, select option "open with" then  "Paint" then select "resize". This allows you to reduce size - try "pixels" and reduce number in box below.

Got windows 10 but the only paint bit I can see is the hall which I did to-day. Sad to say I'm one of the many three score and ten plus that struggle with modern technology... Sorry ...  Griff

Mike

I think your wheel is a standard 8 inch one, your photos first 2 and the last photo which is from the service sheets.
