At long last the hornet engine sits loosely in its frame. My queerie this time is about the spacer(s) which are missing from the bottom mounting stud. There doesn't seem to be any clear indication in the parts book as to their dimensions or indeed their exact location! The front mounting seems snug enough. S hould i just measure carefully the left and right gaps and manufacture spacers to suit? Any advice gratefully recieved. Thanks Dave.
if I havnt got the originals , which I would remake in stainless anyway, yes, I would snug front and back and measure both sides and make new ones. If you dont have the machines I have packed with a stack of washers in my earlier years

Hi. Would you care to be more specific cos I cant see what spacers you are refering to. Perhaps its my age?????

Hi Mike sorry to confuse. I refer to the bottom engine mounting stud, the long one.part no 68 4260. The manual refers to a spacer which i have missing! There is a definite gap on both sides more pronounced to the right. Just wondered if it the obvious answer was to measure and make up new ones? Thanks for your thoughts. Dave
Hi,
1970 parts book 27-5676 Spacing washer x 4. No dimensions given but I would think 2 each side.
It does show this spacing washer outboard of the washer for the nut but this is probably a miss-numbering. The dimensions for the washer 02-1733 are given as 3.8"x13/16"x1/16". I would think that, as has been suggested, use this size to fill the spaces without pulling the frame in.
Dave.

I just looked at the earlier parts book and it gives 3/8th x 1". I assume thats 1" OD with a 38" centre. Doesnt give a thickness.
I do up the front cross bolt/stud. Do up the rear bracket and pack to fit. with minimum frame "squeeze".

Thanks one and all. Another problem sorted! Dave
The standards manual gives 27-5676 as being:
i.d .380"
o.d. 1.00"
thickness .092"
material E.N.2
