Title: A65 lectrics
Post by: Mike Farmer on 13 Sep, 2021, 15:41
 :) :) :) :)

Hi Info please.

I am currently rewiring an A65. On the wiring diagram is a 2mc? capacitor. I've wired several at different times, all from the same diagram  and I guess I've either not seen this or ignored it.

What is it for???????????

If it has points it could be for that.

Mike

The 2mc is a large capacitor which allows the bike to run and lights to work when no battery fitted. The bike must be wired for 12 volt full output. Does work, used it on a B25 some years ago.

Came in 1967/68 I think. Below from Lucas.

A bit more from the 1971 Lucas service manual.

Hi Thanks for your answers. If I had read the electrics page properly etc.

As I now have solid stae regulater/rectifier I doubt ir value ,so shall not bother with it.

Strange that I never recall even seeing it on the diagram. Thats life
