Title: Struggling to find a few parts for the engine rebuild
Post by: Bigmac on 24 Aug, 2021, 21:36
So far the rebuild has been going fairly well, but have had real issues sourcing a new rocker assembly (found a lot of spindles) and also a gear change quadrant  (preferably one that's on the shaft)

Appreciate any ideas for the best (and cheapest) to source these?

It would help if we knew what engine.

Hi Bigmac,

Assuming it is for an A50/A65, BritishBikeBits have some NOS rockers and there are a few suppliers of gear change quadrants come up in a google search.  I would suggest trying to get NOS parts if possible.  If you can go for quality over price as cheap usually means just that.  Are you intent on new parts?

Dave.

Yeah sorry its an A65 thunderbolt 1966, looks like it came with a lightning head as I can see two carb ports, I am fine with old parts but I know the quadrants get quite worn.

I have cobbled together all the bits that came in a baskets just used new washers and bearings where needed.

Need a clutch connector as well.
