Title: A65L Thread type - bolt sizes
Post by: avfactsrag on 01 Aug, 2021, 11:24
Greetings all,
I am currently nearly finished a rebuild of a 1967 A65L. It is missing two bolts and I do not know the thread diameter type (i.e. BSF, unified etc) and the thread pitch.
Bolt 1 is the small bolt that secures the swing arm axle to the frame on the left-hand end. I assume it is a right-hand thread ?

Bolt 2. is the left hand rider footpeg nut that locks the footpeg position on the tapered rod in unison with the D shaped serrated lock washer. I understand it uses a left hand thread.

Any guidance would be welcome and see this old girl carving out some corners. Engine already re-built and running nicely.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rag,
           Welcome to the forum.

Bolt 1:
Part No. 67-8313, 5/16" RH Bolt, Thread CEI 26tpi, 1/2" Long with a small Hex head.

Bolt 2.
Part No: 29-5839, 7/16" LH Nut, Thread CEI 20tpi.

Worth looking here for part numbers etc:

And here for fixing numbers and sizes:
