Title: A65 Thunderbolt 1967 Rear Wheel
Post by: old git on 22 Jul, 2021, 23:58
The rear wheel is in the frame all tightened up and in line but it wobbles. Not side to side as if the bearings were worn but forward and back in line with the chain. Not a huge amount but quite noticeable. I have not had the wheel out yet. Any ideas?

Hi,

Is it the wheel or the tyre?  Check the rim as it could be off centre or the tyre may not be seated properly.  There is usually a line that can be used to make sure. It should be equi-distant from the rim.

Dave.

Could be spline wear between the drive flange bolted to the brake drum and the crinkle hub. Drive flange bolts could be loose. Or could be coming from the gearbox sprocket.
