Title: A65 Rocket coils
Post by: Cmcl.1959 on 09 Jul, 2021, 17:23
Hi,
I'm about to change my '64 Rocket to 12V and electronic ignition. The Pazon system says to use two 6V coils so I'm planning to use the ones that are already fitted to the bike.
Can anyone please tell me what values I should be looking for with resistance on the primary and secondary windings.
I'm getting the same value for each on the primary side, about 2.5, but very different figures for the secondary, about 13.5 on the right hand coil and 21 on the left.
If there's any doubt, I'll get new but if anyone can advise I'd be very grateful.

Clarke

Hi,
Worth a look here, and give him a call:

Hi Bess,

Yes I was going to get all the necessary stuff from Paul Goff. I bought stuff from him when I modified my TR6P a few years ago.
I think I'l just replace the coils rather than go to the trouble of buying all the other stuff and fall at the last hurdle. These ones will be spares for later.
He's definitely the go to guy for this time of thing. He's given me some good advice in the past.
Thanks for getting back to me.
