as the B40 isnt standard, Im looking at fitting a Tee Piece in the return line to feed the rockers. this was done on my T100, the A50 runs the 3 pipe outlet from the cases, the A10 uses the Tee piece.
my question, do I need to restrict the Tee piece, or will the smaller bore pipe restrict any pressure, if needed. would too much oil/pressure do any harm?
Chaz, Further to our PM discussion: Not sure if this is what you wanted - maybe you wanted info on the tee-joint next to the oil tank? Anyway, here are some photos I've just taken of the rocker oil feed pipe I shaped last year from what, if I remember rightly, was a simple T shape when I bought it. I had some discussions about it on this forum (April/May 2020) when I was doing it. Where the pipe goes into the hose near the oil tank, I think they were often just a push-in fit, as was mine, but I added a jubilee clip for peace of mind (hard to get a good photo but if you want me to try to get a better one then let me know.) A tricky bit in shaping the pipe was getting the distance between the ends accurate. Also attached is a photo of the decompressor mechanism you asked about, which I don't use, so can't vouch for its effectiveness. If you need any more pics, or something different from what I've attached, let me know. This might be not at all what you were asking for, sorry if that's the case! (you might be using flexible hose?) Phil
PS just discovered I can only attach four pics, so hope these are the best of the bunch.
Phil
thats just what I wanted, from one book Ive seen the tail of the oil pipe goes down the bottom, but as yours, the one Im doing goes into the back of the oil tank, bit of a chase finding where to bend so as not to crush the pipe and drop down into the back, alsonoticed the ignition switch is close to the oil tank mounts.
the decomp layout also what I needed, dont have the bracket, luckilly only a couple of quid from Draganfly, as opposed to the missing twisted lever, expensive. all the decomp parts were missing when it arrived.
thanks again
I don't follow all that Chaz, but by the way, should have said, the pipe I shaped, and it's route, might be very different from the original BSA shape/route. (The one I removed was very wiggly, damaged, bit of a mess really. Photos on the old posts from last year I think, if you're interested.).
Why do you mention the ignition switch being close to the oil tank mounts?
Phil
sorry. rushing before work last night.
the oil pipe for the rockers seems to have to go over the panel with the ignition switch in, trying to work out the route as dont want it to go up and down just down to allow free flow, the switch seems close to the tee piece at the back of the oil tank, maybe its an aftermarket switch which is bigger than normal, a couple of terminals are close to the body and brackets of the oil tank mocking it up. have to sort bolts and spacers out to check for sure.
Thought you were talking about my bike, but now think you're talking about yours, sorry Charlie. Phil
