Title: A65 clutch play
Post by: Dibble on 18 Jun, 2021, 19:51
could anyone tell me what is an acceptable level of play should be between the clutch basket and clutch centre. I have used new rollers and thrust washer and ensured the centre sits properly on its splines but there remains quite a bit of "rattle". Any ideas please. Dave.

Hi,thought i'd put this one to bed as judging by the lack of feed back my problem didn't exist or i was missing the obvious! Any way i meticulously addressed the splines on both parts in question and decided to assemble using a drawbolt type of arrangement! Result. I managed  to mate things together on the bench then install when required. Minimal play-happy camper! Regards to all. Dave

All of my clutches have had float, even a new complete SRM Clutch that I put on my A65. Sometimes answers are not forthcoming. Enjoy !
