Well - p'raps I'm just getting older but my recently acquired A65 does have a VERY heavy clutch.
I've installed a new cable and made all the normal checks - so, any opinions welcomed please!
1) Can I get a 'softer' clutch spring option does anyone know that won't allow slippage...
2) Can I unwind / unload the standard springs without the risk of them working loose in use?
I think that's it! About all I can think of apart from training my left hand........
Any thoughts? Cheers anyway...
Hi,
If you haven't, try the nylon sleeved cables with light silicone spray oil.
Check your cable route, BSA gave the best route in one of their service sheets number 103.
Clean and grease your clutch lever and pivots.
Position your clutch lever so that your wrist is in a flat, neutral position when you reach for the lever.
Move the lever closer to the centre of the handle bars so your pull is at the end of the lever.

Change your springs, check coil size etc in manual, SRM probably sell the best.
Adjust the spring tension.
Check your clutch basket and plates, remove grooves in the basket or burrs on the plates.
Check push rod ensure it is lubricated and moves freely.
As you suggested, I use one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124719285327?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1d09d9444f:g:bGMAAOSw--tgmhlf&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAACgBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%252Fn%252BzU5L90Z278x5ickkp2NA0WuhQytmt4dbStg00Lu8kIanLKMpHS8W0Eynqp3TWnVdeJntE9XDPCvo5zgYKgSMmMx8nx2eSJvRNWWmSpTPMdWZ%252B0s1jWf9VxSxm5pYT%252FXpeds5%252FwLpBhDy2RDv2SNFIDc9awwiNrQlt6csIUJxSqEY0iVIjogtQs%252Fz28MeDssm6vIcUT%252BZMmz8BlLBfHHpnsyu8gMtnnPkC%252BerunLV%252BmTaaPeL0y4aFBcv4IQVzcT%252B9DBLToZ053Jk%252BZcMbGmZbP2r4ELLpzUqAoH70TNM3wugDeU%252BuqIjoXGwxeyfEwtmDXg7d6LPvHwGRZxE5AVCq9FIip9oj7vqfWAfSdxYx80kxK9QJIAQpI1d668msthhYuQ9Y5u3xBEhBVIH9B3y6xhChqJ4pl%252FzG6XAIM6TwV5LUKE8MwlFpU7mJ0mNpWgOAx4c5luRZnoSochH2GdqR6FcgElw8teHU67Mn23hj%252FmSoqGh%252BsB%252FpF%252FCy6Mywxm%252BiNnHm4a8AWpiE4LpBfrQ0o0%252BAhH8vLj0vI1V3Ujt5r%252FitqdRjzS96LRcEAVT1e4BriPBjtw6iz3kkhoViSHdzTjKBbdw7H4bRqPUI%252BCygeAB3nJ9hByZJ1FCiS6V7w0xX%252BG%252Bf7HC83NwdagkigvOK1LyofUilIee8H5qjUUGBogC7dE4SZCA0GfWvCA0sjj4jgyyP5cSdUWCp4FXhq%252FRzSs2uvPW%252B9ni70h%252Fic6QQBvIhWpwUy1pgblVlUYmA4i2lXmYyMLnYYE0yEseHssvyineaETXvBo%252FPynLmGVD4v0Ht3X4PkfHaQFqaxE%253D%7Ccksum%3A124719285327aa7ffa235a7b4470ad5ac9811a4b7616%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2334524

I have the same problem and I am about to fit A10 springs. They are the correct length and I suspect that they were what was used originally on 4 spring clutches.
The correct length is 39mm.(As is A10 springs) it is impossible???to buy anything less than 41/42mm thats an extra winding. A lot of springs are 44mm miles out.
I have no idea about 3 spring clutches)

Thanks Gents - comments really appreciated and thanks!
