Title: D1 Lucas alternator extractor bolt
Post by: robincroft on 05 May, 2021, 18:16
Hello, decided to fit a modern CDI conversion and need to remove the alternator /rotor.
It is a Lucas type. The service sheets say use the special extractor bolt provided in the tool kit. Ha! What tool kit? Anyway if it was a Wipac type no problem as there are plenty for sale, alas cannot find one to suit the Lucas.
Does anyone have a drawing so I could make one please?

Thanks

Robin

Hi,
I found a picture in the D1 parts book, no dimensions though.  It looks very like one I've got, I think for my ex AJS model 14 250, on that I think it was for extracting the cam?
Anyhow, the AJS one has an overall length of 23/4" and a diameter of 3/16".
The D1 version is number 25 and is described as Extractor (Lucas alternator) part number 90-297. Photo' of part book:
