Title: Lifting handle fitting - advice wanted
Post by: MJM_58SR on 03 May, 2021, 16:46
Hello all
Could anyone offer any advice on the lifting handle for my A10 please?
I bought a pattern part ages ago and have now come to fit it but the hole centres are way out.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have the measurements and a photo of an original please?
Any help as always appreciated
Thanks
Martyn

Hi Martyn,
I had a similar problem. It was a chrome handle, so I heated it until it was glowing red and slowly bent it until it fitted. I used polishing mops to get the chrome back, there is still a slight discoloration leaving it looking like a faint black chrome.

Best wishes...

Thanks Bess
Mine is powder coated so maybe won't get as good result!
I'll have a look at modding it as I know a powder coater so can get it redone

Hi Martyn,
Are the hole centres too wide or narrow?

I had the self same problem with a B series lifting handle - the first one was way out to the extent that it was impossible to align the holes any which way. Sent it back (good old Amazon) purchased another one from Kidderminster Motorcycles, not perfect, different angles etc but I could line up the holes and once tightened I was able to adjust the angle with a 3`bar. In my case I was adding a handle to the right hand side of the bike to help in the process of getting the xxxxxx bike onto the main stand, it enabled third party assistance.

The hole centres are too wide by maybe a good 10mm or a bit more which means it will have to bend quite a bit.
I was wondering if anyone had a photo of an original part so I could see what they are supposed to look like.
