I bought one from the Liverpool stockist.
Expensive though!
They come fully assembled and tested and ready to fit, all steel construction.
After messing about with my old pump to try to ease internal friction I couldn't believe how easily and smoothly the shaft turned.

ABSAF also do them, but even more expensive at over 300 Euros...plus VAT. But I am sure they are very good.

Personally I'm happy to get an original working and maybe live with draining the sump after a lay-up.   :D

thanks for replys gentleman.
my usual supplier kidderminster mcycles had 2 new one in and i bought one this morning.
however quality swing arm centrestands are out of stock everywhere. from recent experience ,do not buy an indian die cast copy unless you want to fall flat on your face and your b31 following on top of you.

Before resorting to spending what appears to be an exorbitant amount of money on a new Hepolite oil pump I tried to fettle the old one and i could get it spinning freely when sat in my hand. I spent many hours on this!!
However when bolted up into the engine the mechanism became very stiff and I feared would overheat and seize or have a shaft failure.
As a word of warning it's something you might not notice unless you have the timing gears out and turn the geared drive spindle between your fingers after fitting.  I think the mazac  body on these old pumps is the main issue and distorts when bolted up. It even occurred when nipped up just over hand tight on the fitting bolts.
:(
Pete.

Hi Pete,
After the maintenance you can fit two 1/4" bolts through the holes that the pump mounting bolts fit through, using nuts and washers on the other end tighten both nuts  simulating bolting the pump into the engine. If when checking for free rotation and it is still stiff, more lapping unfortunately.

Best wishes...
