Title: B31-B33 bottom ends
Post by: trophy on 27 Apr, 2021, 19:56
.I have a very dirty crankshaft and the big end needs replacing.  Before I do anything about it do you think there is a market for it as its surplus to requirements?  I'm not certain if its for a B31 orB33.
Also confirm if the threads on the shafts are 3/4" and 1/2" 20tpi BSCy.  Regards all.

B31 flywheels are stamped 66-610 and I believe the B33 should be 66-635 (same as M20, M21)
Timing side shaft threaded 1/2 inch 20TPI, drive side 3/4 inch 20TPI.

A new big end will cost around 200 quid from Alpha

cheers

Many thanks for that Pete C.  Both of my flywheels are marked 66-635 and the con rod 65-1614, and the suggested cost for a new big end has me thinking if it would be worth my doing it doing anyway.  Anyone in the market for a set of B33 flywheels which require a new big end?
