Title: A65 QD rear wheel bearing cover. Advice needed.
Post by: CHUNKYBRAY on 22 Apr, 2021, 19:36
Hi
Just changed my rear wheel bearings and in the process renewed the bearing cover ( 67-6133)
My question is... How does it stay in place.I assumed it was an interference fit buy the new one comes loose after a couple of miles..

The covers are normally held on by the tightness of the flange on the back. You could try silicon seal on the flange before fitting, let it harden overnight before using.

Dumb question I know but does the cover rotate with the wheel or is it clamped to the spindle?

Thanks.....

Rotates with the wheel.

if its not too slack then you might try a bearing "loctite" type of thing! Its proved very effective for me in the past for similar problems. Otherwise you might try a couple of carefully administered punch marks to the flange. This would tighten it up at the risk of damaging  the finish.best of luck. Dave
