Title: Stainless steel A65 mudguard
Post by: DAVE BRADY on 17 Apr, 2021, 16:45
Good afternoon,

I want to replace the chrome rear mudguard on my 1969 A65.  I did not protect it well enough whilst the bike was out of action and the chrome has not faired too well.  Does anyone know if there is a stainless steel one available that is the correct shape etc. and fits properly between the battery tray and toolbox etc?

Dave.

Hi Dave,
I have looked many times for some and never been successful, I buy stainless blanks and cut to suit. The last build I used two, one section from behind the engine to the top bracket between the shock absorbers the other from the bracket to the license plate.

Best wishes...

Hi Bess,

Thanks for the reply.  I have looked but can only find ones that may fit but will need a bit of cutting.
I may end up with a chrome one again as the one on my other A65 has been on for many years/miles and is still good.  The difference is that the I cleaned the good, well used one far more regularly so perhaps a lesson learnt.
