Title: Colouration of exhaust
Post by: Morleydog on 03 Apr, 2021, 14:34
Hi Folks, My rebuild of my 1960 C15 is almost complete, although I did not strip the engine.
Started pretty well after a few kicks, but was racing a bit.
I kept it running for a few minutes while I tried to settle it down.
Switched it off eventually, only to find that the exhaust had gone from shiny chrome silver, to purple.
Any ideas why this would happen in just a few minutes?
I must admit, I haven't tried to clean it off yet so don't know if it is permanent yet.

Weak mixture and/or retarded ignition. But isnt the purple quite attractive? :)
