Recently i was browsing among the threads of this amazing forum and stumbled across something i always thought to be BSA fokelaw! I refer to the numbers stamped on crank and engine case when one is subtracted from the other, the endfloat measurement can be calculated. I tried it and yes its just possible it might! However when working this out do you include the thickness of the shimcup, because if so in my case its more than the actual figure i get? Can anyone enlighten me and i apologise in advance for any oversight on my part. Happy easter all. Dave
Calculated mine on this basis (i.e. assuming the thickness of the shim cup was allowed for in the measurements) and it seems to be OK. My logic was that the shimcup is thicker than the allowable endfloat of 3 thou, so if it had to be allowed for (as it were) otherwise the crank would bind once the cases were assembled (which it doesn't)
