Can you tell me what this threaded hole is for please? (hope photo turns out...) Its looking towards the engine front, where the gearbox sprocket lives. Cheers Kevin

This is the outlet for the engine timed breather. I am not sure if any were threaded as standard but some owners put a pipe in and a tube to take any oil mist away to the back of the bike or on to the chain.
