Title: timingside bearing
Post by: Dibble on 17 Mar, 2021, 16:01
hi just received new timing bearing from Seager engineering the one with the thick flange, thier description, not mine! Its for the rebuild on my 67 hornet and i know this originally  had a thrust  washer, even though it was missing on stripdown. They advise i can despence with thrust washer when using their bearing? It sounds good not having an additional item to worry about when shimming the endfloat! Whats the consensus on that one gentlemen? I must say the goods in question seem excellent with provision for 60 below! Thanks.

If I remember correctly the early A65 bearing had a thick flange and no thrust washer but they later changed it to a thinner flange and a thrust bearing. I have a 1963 A65 and it does not have a thrust washer fitted.

my ex 66 and 67 thunderbolts never had the shims, but the 69 did which raises the question..
the cases are down with the fitter/machinist waiting for the crank grinder , now, which bush did I get???
