Title: B33 petcock leak
Post by: allenhanford on 14 Mar, 2021, 23:43
I've tried multiple types of O-rings in my plunger-type petcocks and they still weep oil. My garage is under the house and I'm suck of the place stinking like gas. Is there another petcock that threads into the existing hole in the tank? I don't care about originality and I'm not looking for reccomendations on seals for the petcocks I already have.

You just have to buy the adapter then can fit many common taps. It might be a 3/8" to 1/4", like a reducing bushing. BSPP I think. Look at vendor's sites, you'll see it.

Good morning,

You may find this thread interesting  'Re: Are these fuel tap corks especially designed to leak ?'  It is under the Twins heading.

With good cork inserts the 'Ewarts' type petcocks work very well and last for years.  The corks are available quite cheaply or watch the Youtube video and make your own.  After watching it I will never buy another cork but make my own.

Dave.
