Title: inner idler pinion bush
Post by: Taffyboy on 08 Mar, 2021, 17:04
Does the phosy bronze idler  bush on my 1965 A65 (68 0028) require reaming before fitting? new bush is proper tight on the shaft

Hi,

No. I would fit, then ream as it might 'close' after fitting in the crankcase. The better engineering solution is to replace both bushes, 68-0028 & 68-0214 and line ream them.

Best wishes...

I've replaced the outer bush, that's a nice fit. Short block will be off to a engineering shop soon, (timing main bearing shot. as if...) so I'll mention inner bush for him to sort.  Regards Kev
