Hi all,
I'm about to start on a complete rebuilt of a 1930 BSA S-30 with my father. When I say complete, it's literally in pieces and was stored in a few chests by my godfather since the 1980s. We've got a decent about of documentation, including the original owners manual and the sales brochure (both of which I can scan and digitise if useful to this forum). First steps will be to itemise all the parts we have and see if anything major is missing. If anyone has a previous built thread or youtube series of sloper's of this age, that'd be really useful - we've both rebuilt cars before but this'll be the first bike project, although due to the age, i'm assuming it's going to be easier to actually build, with the main issue being sourcing parts if needed.
Does anyone have any technical details on rebuilding the engine and gearbox (tolerances/torques/etc) as that'd be really useful. I'm also assuming that it's best to tackle the rolling chassis first....?
Will happily share pics as we go as it's always good to document this type of thing.
Thanks for any help!
There's a very small limit on file size for attachments on this forum so is hard to share stuff directly.
I have a file of useful Sloper info I can share with you if you want to email me: clarkb@mthutt.school.nz.

Hi
Just in case you are interested, I am a few months ahead of you and will be more than happy to pass on where I have "had things done" new big ends etc.
Best of

Same here. Rebuilt mine a couple of years ago and have lots of pictures of many details. Just ask if you need anything in particular.
Best of luck,
Gui
