Title: Insurance
Post by: ioan96 on 26 Feb, 2021, 20:32
Hello, I have recently purchased a 1969 BSA Bantam B175. I am having trouble insuring the bike, and have been told that the model is not registered with the ABI (Association of British Insurers). I have tried with Devitt, Adrian Flux and Bennetts. Could you give me some suggestions for insuring this bike as I would like to take it out on the road by spring. Thank you.

Contact Peter James Insurance on 0121 5066000 they deal with classic motorcycles and are usually very competitive on price. Hopefully they should be able to help you.

I've never had any problem getting insurance for my classic bikes. I've also in the past added them to my modern bike insurance policy for very little money.
I am surprised that Adrian Flux won't insure it as 3 of mine are insured with them on a block policy for £77 ( Bantam, B40, A50).
I have been told by a telephone operator that they cannot find the bike on the system but they eventually will if you persist.

Thank you for your help everyone. I have now been successful insuring it with Footman James. Your responses have been greatly appreciated!
