Title: Victor timing marks
Post by: Millerboy on 25 Feb, 2021, 20:28
Hi All

Just ready to put my Victor engine back together and noted two timing marks on the camwheel adjacent to eachother - one is a 'v' and the other is a 'l'. Which one do I use to time the valves?

Thanks

Julian, your collection of original BSA letters, service sheets and manuals etc never ceases to amaze me. They are such a valuable source of accurate information. The proverbial horses mouth. You are very kind to take the trouble to share them.

Where on earth did you find them all?

There are a lot of service sheets, parts bulletins etc etc in the members area of the BSAOC website and it is well worth exploring.

My personal stuff has come from years of collecting mainly from autojumble and  internet purchases.

This service sheet is a tremendous help. Many thanks.  The as-found orientation of the timing gears on my '70 B25 had the crank pinion gear mark in between the "V" and "|" marks.  When in doubt, straddle the fence!
Thanks again,
Oliver
