Title: A65 Rocker Gear Alignment
Post by: Mike Farmer on 25 Feb, 2021, 16:42
 :) :) :)

Over the years I have fitted a goodly few sets of rocker gears with varying degrees of difficulty, a lot of messing and fiddling etc, so I thought that I would make a tool to relieve the stress.
Providing the pics come out as follows. Make sure the parts are all clean and bone dry. put plenty of seriously thick grease on all the parts to be assembled. Make sure the rocker shaft goes through without having to "bash it".

One thing I tried when doing this recently was to use a felt tip to "outline" the positions of the washers against the pedestals before disassembly so you can see whether they are aligned when you try reassembly. It seemed to help a bit.

I refitted the rocker gear today using the tool that I made. Very happy with it--5 minute job. Super
