Hi All,
In process of rebuilding front brake and am mystified as to how cable passes through guide post. Clevis/wheel end is too large to fit through hole in guide post and same with barrel one the lever end. Photo attached. Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

Wrong cable, for the half width hub the cleveis/shackle/toggle is not fixed to the cable but detachable. You can see the slot in the illustration from the 1968 parts book.
Hi,
Here's my setup:
Best wishes...
Thanks to you both. Strange why the existing cable on mine had a nondetachable clevis. I am wondering if this part of process was completed after cable was routed at factory. (I am replacing all cables, so didnt mind especially cutting it, but weird.). And I am working form the parts book on Baxter Cycle... Is there another source for this? Also, When I enter in the part # and year on ebay I come up with the same one.
Hi,
Due to issues in the past I now make all my own cables. Modern specifications and outer sleeve liners reduce friction and cable failures.

Or send them your specification using the attached.
Best wishes...
From the Baxter Cycle site this is the cable for the half width single leading shoe brake hub used on the Thunderbolt and Royal Star and Western Bars;

This is the cable for half width hub and UK bars;

The twin leading shoe brake used on the 1968 Lightning, Spitfire and Firebird took different cables with a fixed shackle.
Thanks again! The fellow at Baxtrer just told me that the pic I sent him is off a 67 so now I am in a tizzy trying to figure out whether I have a complete setup and i am not physically at the bike to try to put it all together. Have an email in the PO to see if this was ever a viable setup as i have never seen it assembled.
