Title: a65 fork spring washer
Post by: Taffyboy on 08 Feb, 2021, 16:29
where does the  fork spring support and washer  sit on 1969 a65 fork assembly? Is it on the lip inside the seal housing, or at the bottom of it? Both sides  missing on mine, so have no reference. ( 97 3638 is the number, nobody seems to have it on stock. If I can measure it, will try to source it ).

seal, flat washer then the dished washer then spring, check out Drags

might just have to have a word with someone with a lathe

Hi,

Look at the diagram in Chaz's link.

The spring No.7 fits into the spring support cup No.8 (97-3638) which rests on top of washer No.9 which fits on top of the fork oil seal No.19.

Gotcha! penny's dropped. The seal, when installed, fits flush with the lip and washers on top of that. That lip was throwing me, cos there ain't no seal in it..Good suggestion about lathe, happen to know a good friend with such a thing. Regards
