I am going to be fitting one of their charging units to my 66 Lightning. Has anyone fitted one and where did you mount it? There is space under the seat but I reckon it would be too hot, there is also room on the coil bracket but again I reckon it would be too hot there as well. I am hopping to keep the cable run and connections to a minimum. Cheers. Willie.

Here's and image of a set up on my lads A65. An aluminum plate fabricated painted black to dissipate heat holding the electronic ignition and regulator under the seat.

Two options I went for. On one bike I am using a twin lead coil so fitted the reg/rec in place of the other coil (ignore the ugly right hand bolt). As coils need to be kept cool I consider this location OK. On the other bike I looked at putting it where the rectifier had been as that has to be kept cool but not that easy so a simple clamp on the frame and almost invisible.

Brilliant thanks very much. That's just what I was looking for, some pics of units installed. The coil bracket looks favourite just now,as Dave says, the coils need to be cool so the Podtronics should be Ok. Thanks again.
