Title: Triumph 750 piston
Post by: Grandad Russ on 29 Jan, 2021, 18:11
Evening all. 😁
I was fitting a b31 bottom end to my A10 swing arm and was lookin for a barrel and piston and got offered a 750 piston and barrel for a decent price so bought it. All fitted and okay but it's now time to time it. B31 timing is 7/16th's before tdc.
Anyone fitted a triumph piston before and if so what is the before tdc please.
Phew that was a long post. 😁

Is it a T140 piston and a B31 barrel. It needs to be a low compression piston and will need a 2 mm plate under barrel. This will give about 8.5 -1 compression time the same.

Thanks for the reply sir.
I'll time it as a standard 31 and can always mess with it. Ta.

I've probably misunderstood your intention as I thought the protrusion oil pump on a B series engine would prevent it being fitted into an A series frame?

Unless the frame is modified it would be impossible to fit a B series engine into an A type frame.

Sorry for the late reply, yeah the frame has had a loop fitted for the b31 sump. 😁
