Title: Re: B31 Crankpin locking
Post by: Bess on 22 Jan, 2021, 19:07
Hi,
The original crankpin locking plate and screw seems like a catastrophe waiting to happen. I realise they have been there since conception, does anyone replace them, is there a better solution or are the nuts Loctited in these days?

Thanks...

you could loctite the screw but I would leave the rest as BSA designed it. The crankpin nuts are torqued to around 100  ft lb and unlikely to come undone, but the plate is there as insurance.
It can be a challenge to remove the nuts without the addition of loctite  ;D
