Title: 1960/61 C15 fork stanchion dimension
Post by: Blackthou on 20 Jan, 2021, 22:11
Hi,

I'm looking to determine the small diameter dimension of the taper on the top of the sanchion.

Can anyone measure theirs or give me the dimension from documentation please?

Hi, Mine are on the bench at the moment. Difficult to measure exactly due to manufacturers tolerances. One of mine is 1.179" the other is 1.174". Best I can do i'm afraid. Hope this helps. Cheers, Roland.

Hi Roland.

Many thanks for the reply. The new stanchions I bought are the same size as yours but the ones I took out are 1.187". Consequently the new ones protruded 0.100" as opposed to being below the surface 0.100". I was trying to find out if they were undersize.

My top yoke has the correct C15 part number cast on it. I ended up putting the stachions in a lathe and facing them until the dimension read 1.187" like the original ones. Sits nicely below the top of the taper now.
