Title: draganfly
Post by: Taffyboy on 10 Jan, 2021, 23:45
Anybody tried out the new draganfly website out yet? Seems a lot slower than the old one... ???

just had a quick look through the A50/65 parts, seems a lot quicker than the old pages.
pictures of individual parts seem clearer.
my only complaint, the list of parts does not contain steering head, had a browse through handlebars, frame etc no mention then looked at thebottom of the page and there is the drawing for steering head.

no, but why list as yokes and then steering below.
yokes would normally be the triple trees, steering ould include damper .
it was a quick look after a nightshift

Got me there Chaz. I cant figure out the why's of these company computer wizards. One of the ongoing problems I think stems from the fact that the programmers and writers, write as if we are all up to their level of computer literacy, which often (certainly with me) far from the case. They write programmes for programmers and not for users. Clever buggers but that is of little help to me.

I find the same. I often go on sites to purchase something and it is so complex that I give up. They must lose a lot of sales but it doesn't seem to bother them.

I have an interest in WW1, visiting many cemeteries and graveyards in France. One source of information is the CWGC web site. the site had a major overhall last year, not one person provided positive experience, many reports were for missing links, missing maps, removal of certificate and other search function  that up until the upgrade worked fine. the CWGC response was to the effect that they have changed their logo to a more PC/World friendly one which , by the way is worse than the original one.
The Great War Forum also went under a change , its reasoning was to make it more user friendy for mobile devices. My old iPad was fine until the change, now I cant see posted links or reply to posts. Ive been told to upgrade my ipad to get the results back. Ive gon from a ipad 1 to a 3 and still cant see it. If I reply I have to read on the ipad as its a bigger screen then reply onmy android phone which means I cant read the writing as its too small.... Progress I suppose.

BTW, if you have an account with Drags, you should check your data. Everything got mixed up so you probably now have the address of somebody in another continent, an e-mail from somebody else and so on. You have to update and correct everything on your account...

Hi,

I do not set up accounts with parts suppliers but just buy as and when.  It looks like those with accounts should complain about this.

Dave.

Hi,
This solves a mystery, I've not used them but over the last few weeks I have had enough parts delivered to make a Goldie  :) :)

Best wishes...

Very (as in very) strange that Drags have not demonstrated a more pro active stance with this situation... Possibly their customers over the pond might have more cause for concern.

I'm another one who found my name and address had changed, when I logged on to my account. My name is now Hywel Evans, and my address is Hywel, Evans.

I've sent them an email.

Clearly, they have replaced their system with a more up to date one and there are some gremlins.

The way I see it, it's not  a major cause for concern as it looks like all the existing data specifically addresses, has not transferred correctly and there is a default non-descript address in place.

If you order something, your invoice and delivery (ship to) address would be displayed before you hit the button, so, if it was incorrect you would just change it to the correct one and all should be well.

I very much doubt that there is a data security issue here. Just give them time to sort it all out.

Just my twopennorth
Chris

Checked my account which had a wrong name (looked like a dummy name) and no real other detail. Have amended accordingly

Hi,
    Just seen this on facebook:

Draganfly Motorcycles

Some of you will have noticed we got a new website in the New Year (woohoo!) and some of you may have noticed a data issue when logging into your account on the new site (boo!). Here's the official details -
The issue with data arose when transferring name and address details from the old website to the new one. We paid for software to carry out the transfer securely and correctly, but a few days after the website went live we had some customers say their details had been transposed with anothers. As soon as we had been informed of this ALL customers addresses were deleted from the new website.
Our old website did not store payment details for any customers, and neither does our new website, so this information was never at risk. We use a secure third party provider to process our online payments (called Payzone).
Our IT guy is going through the records as a priority right now to ensure nothing identifiable is remaining, and each customer will have to re enter their details when making their next order.
We have carried out an assessment and written a report within the guidelines of data regulations and as the number of people affected was low, the information was not of a sensitive nature ie payment or bank details, and rectified quickly, we believe the matter has been resolved.
We are very sorry for any concern or worry this has caused, if you have any further questions please feel free to email me directly as facebook messages are not always picked up
( Lauren@draganfly.co.uk ) and I will do my best to put your mind at ease
