Title: C15 forks on a Bantam
Post by: Stubaker58 on 07 Jan, 2021, 21:03
Hi,

My latest project is a D3 swinging arm Bantam which I'd like to do up as a green lane machine in the spirit of a pre '65 machine.  I don't expect to do any serious trials but quite fancy having a go at long distance trials.

I've got a set of standard C15 forks which, although not great, are a big step up from the original Bantam items. I've got yokes that will work (with a bush in the lower yoke) and the forks have spindle clamps like the Bantam ones.

So my question is can anyone tell me what I will need to do/get done to be able to fit a D7 hub?  I'm guessing new torque arm, but what spindle will fit?  Anyone done this?

Thanks in anticipation

Always fancied green lane riding on a BSA or Triumph but where I live I would have to travel 50 miles to get there and when you get there you have to be wary of the Country folk saying it's not allowed!

having said that, there are loads of lanes still available, many of the yellow roads on the ordinance Survey maps are essentially tracks. If you live anywhere N wales there is a guy who will take you out all day, every day,  for a fortnight without recrossing a route.

You're right, here in Suffolk there are a few green lanes not too far away but nothing like further west.I do have a friend who is a farmer though ... I'll have to ask if I can practice on his land!

Still got to get the bike togethe4 though!
