Title: C15 SS80 carburettor
Post by: glenwalkingbiker on 07 Jan, 2021, 18:36
Can anyone tell me what the correct carburettor is for this bike. I am unclear as to whether the Amal Mk1 626 it came with is correct or whether the Monoblock 376/281 as indicated by some is also correct? I get the feeling that both work, provided they have the correct internals but can someone give me a definitive answer as too what would be the best option for a road going bike with a freshly bored 69mm engine. Thanks

Hi,
     For a BSA 250cc 1962-66; C15 Sports Star 376/281. 1" Bore, 25 Pilot 4, 200 Main 0.11 Needle at position 2.

Worth giving Amal a call to confirm.

Best wishes...

The concentric carb was introduced for the 1967 season so not an original fitment for the SS80. But often used as replacements for the monobloc.
