Title: BSA DBD 34 crank cases
Post by: Sionus on 06 Jan, 2021, 22:16
Hi all I have a Goldstar with the DBD 34 ... stamped on the cases . My question is were both casings stamped or just one side and also I have been told that if I remove the timing cover there should be 2 holes between the pushrods, is this the case for all Goldie's or do some cases have 1? The bike is a 1959 Many thanks Sion

The factory stamped the engine number on the left side only of the crankcase just below the case/barrel joint.

Hi,

A65s and A10s etc. have a matching number stamped on the underside of each crankcase half that indicates that the cases were machined as a pair.  Is it the case that the singles do not have this?

Dave.

Hi Dave,
I believe they all have an engine number (model and serial) as Julian said and a matching random number stamped on each of the cases adjacently to indicate they are a machined pair

Best wishes...
