I have an oil leak on my golden flash plunger between the 2nd and 3rd fin from the top on cylinder head on left cylinder. There is a small hole from the very edge of spark plug counter bore through to the area where leak is coming from, between fins (shining torch light through can clearly be seen). So looks like the rocker seal is leaking and draining into left spark plug then through hole. Question is? is this hole supposed to be there as some sort of drain? I guess if left in rain on side stand this would allow water to drain away.
Or is a new head required :'( :'(
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I think the hole is meant to be there and the size and even if it is there at all seems to depend on the casting and machining of the head. I had an A10 plunger head with no hole on one side and any oil would just sit there. I managed to make a hole as the 'skin' over where the hole should be was very thin. So the hole you have is fine so now you have to cure the oil leak.
