Greetings and compliments of the season etc.
I am just about to put my A65 on the bench and start reassembly. I am seriously considering putting "high" pipes on it. what silencers would I need so I can start looking for them.
Any other info advice on this aspect welcome cos its a new one on me.

get some cotton wool for your ears mike! oh and your neighbours as well!
i put high pipes on my a65 and whilst it looked good it was a tad noisy even with the baffles fitted and shorty type tail pipe fitted.
It did sound nice though.

Hi
Doesn't the Firebird Scrambler use full size silencers on the high level pipes or are they a bit shorter?
Dave.

Ive just had another look at that picture, and wonder if:-
My rear brake is on the right hand side which means theres not a lot of space betwixt the kick start and the brake lever and rods.---so will those pipes run ok or will it mean they impinge on the brake bits.
I think that there are pipes that run higher but don't know so anyone with a pic of higher pipes I would be grateful for a look. The alternative is siamese which purely from a personal standpoint I'm not keen on.

Hi Mike,
Mine are fitted higher, just underneath the kickstart peddle hinge the rubber is just above the pipe.
The higher the pipes are fitted the more they move outward it then fouled the kickstart. To overcome this I heated and reset the set to bring the kickstart out from the engine, had to get it re-chromed.
IMG file is mine, H13 file isn't mine.
Best wishes...
Hi Mike, how did you get on with sourcing the high pipes, have to say they look great and fit the vision in my head for my a65 (eventually).

I must confess at this stage I haven't pursued it. Too cold in the shed. But I may just get there fairly soon????? But they sure look nice to me.
