I shall be painting the fuel tank and side panels (fibre glass) of my 1965, A65 lightning (Clubman- ish) soon and would be interested in any suggestions.
I did car resprays many, many years ago, and am therefore familiar with the basics..... but only in cellulose paints. (although I have used this enamel for spraying bike panels on my Velocette Venom and various brackets on this Lightning: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Simoniz-Engine-Enamel-Gloss-Black-Aerosol-Car-Spray-Paint-500ml-SIMVHT32D/331099873418?hash=item4d1717208a:g:qEcAAOSw7FRWWI2u ) and been well pleased with the results...
I'll be spraying a Gold finish (matched (-ish) from the tank)
I'd greatly appreciate any views on the best type of paint (Cellulose (preferred), Enamel or Acrylic, and views on fuel proofing the tank (Lacquer ?) ?
Many thanks,
Dave.
