Title: Lifting Handle
Post by: Blackthou on 05 Dec, 2020, 22:43
I don't know if the C15 should have a lifting handle or not? I've only ever seen a picture once of a C15 with one fitted. I've also scoured the net and found nothing.

Thinking it would be beneficial to help get her on the main stand, I decided to have a go at making one. I rummaged around and found about 12" / 30cm of 15mm pipe and set to making one this afternoon. Quite pleased with the result and it certainly does the job.

Neat job, Rick. Certainly need something to make lifting onto the main stand less fifficult.

By the way, what's the new-looking item below it?

Hi Phil,

Thanks. Are you referring to the horn? I used to have a cheap, generic 6v one so I replaced it with a modern copy of the old ones.

What did you fix the handle to at the back?

I secured it with the bolt that holds the mudguard on. It was a bit tricky as it is beyond the bracket, so had to put an angled bend in the flat end. If ever I was to make another, that place would be my starting point and the rest relatively easy to accommodate ie easier to bend rads and achieve the correct length.
