Title: Twin carb cabling
Post by: BruceB on 17 Nov, 2020, 14:40
Reading online it seems to be beneficial to have twin cables rather than the 2-1 cable for the throttle, is this the concensus and would I be better doing so when changing the twistgrip anyway?
Also the air valve was occasionally used on my last bike (matchless) but is not connected to the carbs on this bike, is it normally found worthwhile on an engine in good condition? While I am retrofitting the twistgrip would it be worthwhile refitting the air valve (and I can use the redundant 2-1 adaptor from the throttle  ;D

Hi,
Your suggestion sounds okay to me.

I use twin cables with in line indexed adjusters on the throttles:

Gives me positive fine adjustment that keeps its setting. I also use the 2-1 for the chokes as I don't need the fine adjustment and haven't found a double cable choke lever.

Best wishes...
