I have a 1952 B33 Plunger. I have just today aquired a Haynes Workshop Manual that I am looking forward to study up on. It covers Pre-unit Singles from 1954-1961. I think the main differences between the 1952 and the 1954 swing arm models will be the the suspension and the monobloc carb? Can someone tell me please if this is correct? I am guessing all the stuff that pertains to the engines workings will be acuarate for both production years? Thanks in advance......wayne
Hello Wayne,
Haynes manuals do not have the best of reputations so it is always a good idea to get the relevant BSA workshop manual and parts book. If you are a BSAOC member these are probably available to see in the Members Area of the BSAOC website.
Dave.
The 52 model will most likely have a long con-rod and piston to suit also small fin head and barrel. The 54 model will have short con-rod with a different piston also large fin head and barrels. All valves and cams are the same. as is the flywheels.
Thanks for the info guys. I have sent in my membership app and dues through email on Oct 30th but I dont see my name registered on the site as a member yet so maybe this is why I dont see the section you speak of Dave regarding BSA owners manual. .........wayne
