Dear All
I want to ask you how should looks like oil indicator for BSA 34-7 from 1934.
I my BSA I have oil indicator later type not Eureka oil gauge 0-15 psi.
Is any proof that this oil indicator was used in 1934? I know that some 1935 models have this type oils indicator or maby I'm wrong ? I will be grateful for any comments and claryfication about this case.
Best regards Artur
Hi Artur,
I'm attaching a photo of the instrument panel on my 1937 Y.13 which is the same as should be on you W34/7. I used to have a W35/6 and I recollect that it had the same panel. The 1934/35 brochures say that the bike has a pressure gauge. The centre of the panel had a "Wanderlight" which has long wires attached so you can use it at night to mend a puncture or read a map etc. The originals are brass and unobtainable but 25 years ago I bought a plastic replica. Search the internet. The same goes for the oil pressure gauge, which should have a max pressure reading of 15 psi. the running pressure is only 6 to 9 psi.
Hope this helps. Regards
Alan
