Title: A10 mudguard stay / stand dimensions
Post by: MJM_58SR on 11 Oct, 2020, 16:39
Hi all
Just wondered if anyone would be willing to help me with dimensions for the front stays for the A10 (1958) with the kinked back stand bit and sports type mudguard.
I can't seem to find any for sale so looking at getting a set made up but obviously need the dims!
Thanks

Hi,
I found this one in my spares box I'm willing to sell or I'll send the dimensions.

Best wishes

Hi Bess
Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated.
I've got a later type one which I think is the same as that one of yours.
I think I'm looking for the one which kinks out at the side/back bit just as it turns around the guard.
Ideas?
Martyn

Hi Martyn,
Sorry I thought 67-6558 was the type, I think you are looking for 67-6530:

Hi Bess
I'm confused now as that looks like the plunger type / balanced guard?
I thought that there was two types of rear stands for the S/A with the 1969 version being different.
I'm really no expert and don't profess to be so I may be totally wrong.

Hi Bess
From what I can see after having a had a look

67-6530 - valanced type guards 1949 to 1954
42-6550 - 1962 onwards
67-6558 -1958 to 1962

May be wrong with years etc but I think I need the 67-6558 for the sports guard.

Hi Martyn,
                Maybe worth looking here:

Hi Martyn,
Just remembered Priory Magnetos supply bits for the mudguards, none in stock though it might be worth talking to him (one of the very best) and his site is informative:

Hi Bess
I came across him today, seems a really nice person too. He didn't have what I needed but is going to have a good look in his bits. One to store for the future.
