There is quite a saga about these rims but i'm not going to mention the supplier until i've spoken to them tomorrow. I will explain in good time but what i need now is just feedback on the quality. They were a budget version but i was expecting at least a uniform or consistent finish.
So , would you put these on your bikes?

No! it looks as if they were plated over the faults.

Very poor quality. Not acceptable even for a budget product.

I know some places sell products that have defects (seconds) at a reduced rate. I take it these are not supposed to be seconds? Maybe they are but they sent you the.wrong ones by mistake.I

Hope you get it sorted.

If they were bought online or over the phone, then distance selling rules apply, so you have 14 days to return them even if they are not faulty!

I contacted the company again this morning.I also listed the comments from this forum and the C10,C11,C12 forum in an email to the boss to prove it wasn't just me.
In his reply he stated that he'd checked them when i'd returned them and thought they were on their way to me not returns because he couldn't see anything wrong with them! He also said all his staff thought they were acceptable.
So who supplied them then?........answers on a postcard please :)

What did they say they are going to do? Are they going to refund you?

Being as you bought then online, and you were not able to see them in the flesh beforehand, it seems this would be the obvious outcome. Even if they are budget rims, they probably still cost you a bit, and once you factor in spokes and other bits it all adds up.

Just send them an email in advance of a letter. State in the letter that you have 'REJECTED' them due to being defective in that there are unacceptable marks etc. on the visible surface of the rim. You must also tell them you require replacements which are not defective or a  full refund.
That is all you need to say and he is obliged to comply with your request.

It's important to use this wording as if you need to take legal action you have taken the necessary steps already.

I would not name him yet. Give him the opportunity to do the right thing first.

Thanks for all the advice but i must point out that the refund thing isn't really the issue.I was offered a refund for the rims, just not my postage.I have accepted an offer of paying to upgrade the rims which will be sent postage free........These are on backorder now despite being told on the phone they were stock items!
I haven't done many British bikes so i'm learning about which suppliers to rely on. Doing mainly Japanese and European modern classics i have a shortlist of excellent suppliers here in the UK and more than one in Holland. These all use very sophisticated stock control systems so you never order something to be told later it's on backorder. You can see when ordering if its unobtainable, on backorder or how many are in stock. These are not faceless online set ups either they are knowledgeable people you can talk to on the phone and more than once have diverted stock for Europe to fulfill my orders .
You may or may not be surprised to know that these were standard chrome rims from Draganfly.

You were no need to name them, as soon as you mentioned back order, I knew who it was  :-\ :-\ :-\
