1965 B40 generator info needed
« on: 01 December, 2019, 21:35:42 »
Im rebuilding a B40 motor and got to the generator stage, in the box of parts are two Lucas generators, both with rotors.
one an encapsulated one only markings are 466/59, 47205 49.93 with 2 wires
or an open wired 54212006 rotor with 47162/56 and 3 wires.

the open wired one could do with re winding but Im presuming the 2 wire moulded is 12v.
can someone clarify which Lucas ones these are, both magnets seem good but not interchangeable around 2mm different.
what RM numbers would they be and which best for the B40? thanks

47205 is an RM21 stator and needs a 74mm diameter rotor. 2 wire so only 12 volt.

The resin encapsulated stators were introduced about 1967 to replace the open wire type.

47162 is an RM19 (6 or 12 volt) and should need a 74mm diameter rotor.
