b25 kickstart
« on: 12 September, 2019, 16:26:27 »
trying to finish assembly of the timing side on a BSA b25ss 1971 O.I.F. but having trouble with the kickstart. When assembled as per b25 the spring on the end of the mainshaft that fits against the pinion is completely compressed when the nut is done up and does not allow any movement between ratchet and pinion. When assembled as per B50 with the correct ratchet and pinion reversed the teeth of the kickstart spindle hit the pinion so stopping any momentum. Any ideas what the trouble is would be appreciated
