C10 3spd gearbox studs
« on: 19 August, 2019, 09:58:28 »
Can anyone give me the spec for C10 3spd gearbox studs. Lengths, threads, lengths of threaded sections and any other info. A couple of studs were sheared in the casing when I got the bike. Can't source replacements so want to get some made up before I take the covers off the box. Bike is on the road so don't want to "open the box" before I've got the required bits to put it back together. Cheers, Rick.

to follow on, 1/4" stud 20tpi one end 26 the other if you can find a BSC (Cycle) stud or bolt around 3" long it can be shortened to 2 7/8" and threaded 1/4" BSW to suit.

the reason for a coarse thread one end is that there is more meat between the pitch of the thread in aluminium otherwise more tpi means narrower meat and easier to strip thread by over tightening.

Thanks for your help. I hadn't seen the offer of "made to order" ss studs on the Draganfly site before. Cheers, Rick.

I will be looking for studs for the B40, some are not available but the longer by 1/2" are so will get them and re die the thread down and shorten the excess. quicker than waiting for a new batch to be made.
