Castrol Power 1 2t oil.
« on: 07 August, 2019, 08:55:55 »
Have been given some 2t oil for my Bantam. As it is only part synthetic what strength would you chaps recomend. Running on fully synthetic I use a 40/1 ratio. Do I ignore the semi-synthetic or use at a rate ??????  Thanks..  Griff

personally, I wouldnt use fully synthetic anyway. Power 1 Ive always recomended for anybikes, or Silkolene scoot for scooters , neither have given me any trouble or owners. my rebuilds on 2 strokes always use Power1. if they then seize after using cheaper oil, its not my problem.
around 40:1 should be ok.

my old Can Am bombardier ex amy bike was being run flat out when the motor slowed and stopped...seizure. found the filter from frame to carb was blocked, let it cool down, managed to re start and rode into town and bought a bottle to mix in tank. carried on and rode to event, then back at end of day 40 miles. bike actually went faster after the seize.  Castrol Power 1 semi synthetic. the motor never got taken apart after the seize.
