C15 frame ?
« on: 09 July, 2019, 09:21:52 »
Just checking my C15 (bought as pieces) and looking at the frame number it's C15S 3612.. Am I right in thinking this might be a trials frame. It's done as a green laner at present but I'd like to make a trials bike from it . Making it look as was original.. Think the engine number is C15 40088 and wll have to put a trials cluster in the box.......  Griff

C15S frames were used for scrambles and trials models.

It is from the 1962 season.

The original engine numbers were prefixed C15S for scrambles or C15T for trials

I will send you a PM

The C15G is the last C15 from 1966/67.

Engine and frame numbers were the same, prefixed C15G.

The engine the best C15 engine, much improved over the earlier models - ball and roller main bearings rather than ball and plain - better oil pump with crankshaft end feed for big end- stronger Victor stub tooth pattern gears with needle rollers on the layshaft ends.

Made less than 2400.
